Remembrance Poems & Prayers – £570 Raised for the Poppy Appeal

We are incredibly proud to share that our Remembrance Poems and Prayers Book written by Class 3 and 4 pupils have raised an amazing £570 for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

The collection of poems and prayers clearly touched the hearts of many — from veterans to young children — with many readers expressing how moved they were by the pupils’ reflections on sacrifice, gratitude, and remembrance.

The donations were formally presented to a representative from the Royal British Legion during a special Remembrance assembly on Monday. During the assembly, several Class 3 and 4 pupils read excerpts from their book, sharing their thoughtful words with the whole school. The event concluded with a performance of the school’s Remembrance Day song, creating a powerful and poignant moment of collective reflection.

A huge thank you to everyone who bought a copy and supported this meaningful project.

We would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Weltons Deli, Quinns Bookshop, and St Peter & St Paul’s Church, Great Bowden, for kindly allowing our pupils to sell the book from their sites and for supporting this project within the community. Your support helped make this project such a success.

Well done, Class 3 and 4 — you made your school and community incredibly proud.
