Mini Bikers

This term Reception and Year 1 have been enjoying getting out on the balance bikes for Mini Bikers. Mr Mason has recently trained with the Bikeability team in order to run these sessions. So much fun and whizzing about!

Learning to balance, children are actively building strength in their legs and core muscles, endurance and coordination, as well as helping to develop gross motor skills and spatial awareness. The child's balance improves, and confidence grows. Plus it provides an easy transition to a pedal bike, ready for participating in their Bikeability training later in their school life.

We are fortunate to have been lent these balance bikes and helmets from the Bikeability scheme. We would love to keep these sessions going after this loan period. If you have a balance bike you no longer need and are willing to donate them to the school, please let us know. We would require these to be the right size for 4 – 6 year olds and in a good, safe, working condition.
