Egyptian Cartouche Printing

As part of our Ancient Egypt topic, our Class 3 and Class 4 pupils took part in a fantastic cartouche printing workshop.

Using a combination of hieroglyphics and important ancient Egyptian symbols, each pupil designed, etched, and printed their very own personalised cartouche — just like the ones created for the pharaohs thousands of years ago.

A cartouche was an oval-shaped nameplate used by the pharaohs of Ancient Egypt, symbolising power and protection. Pupils explored famous examples, including those of Nefertiti, Rameses II, and Tutankhamun, before creating their own unique designs.

Everyone loved this creative element - what an inspiring way to bring history to life.
